The ACT Government has an established policy to use prequalified private sector providers for various services including the construction of new public facilities and infrastructure, and for the upgrading of these facilities.
Prequalification of suppliers is also required for a number of other services to the ACT Government.
ACT Procurement Solutions administers the prequalification program.

Currently there are prequalification schemes for the following areas:

1. Construction Industry Services;
2. Cleaning of ACT Government Schools;
3. Procurement Competency Training;
4. Weed Control Services;
5. Fire Trails Maintenance and Upgrade; and
6. Footpath Remedial Works and Installation.
