Procurement Reform Program

About the Procurement Reform Program

Each year, the ACT Government spends close to $1.5 billion on procurements that support the delivery of quality public services, infrastructure, economic growth, and community wellbeing.

Over the next three years, the ACT Government will deliver a reform program to ensure the procurement framework continues to support government business, our economy and our community.

Designed to deliver procurement outcomes with a strong focus on transparency, support and streamlining, the program will provide clearer opportunities for industry and local businesses to work with the ACT Government.

Reform will set a pathway to transparent, evidence-based procurement decisions; supported, clear roles coupled with customer-focused services to support public servants and businesses throughout the procurement lifecycle; and streamlined legislation, policy, process and templates that are efficient, and facilitate timely outcomes. An accreditation program will make sure that agencies who undertake procurement have the right capability to do so.

Procurement is a valuable strategic function for government to assist in achieving business outcomes and a range of policy priorities. Going forward, we will make sure that we have the people, processes, systems and tools to support all procurement activities.

The Government is committed to supporting businesses to navigate all phases of the procurement lifecycle by providing training and tools to assist them. For more information about the program, please click here or contact procurementACT@act.gov.au.
