Procurement Reform Program

The ACT Government is further strengthening the way it undertakes procurement to ensure that all activity is conducted with transparency, fairness and rigour; and achieves value for money in alignment with community values.

A review of the ACT Government procurement framework began in February 2022 to complement ACT Government’s broader agenda to support Canberra’s recovery from COVID-19 and long-term economic growth.

Secure Local Jobs

Businesses require a Secure Local Jobs Code Certificate to quote on construction, cleaning, security or traffic management work for the ACT Government.

Charter of Procurement Values

The ACT Government is proud to be an aware and informed purchaser and is committed to active consideration of a range of ethical, environmental, economic and social factors to ensure that procurement processes and outcomes reflect the values of the ACT Government and the community.

The Government Procurement (Charter of Procurement Values) Direction 2020 (Direction) commenced on 9 September 2020. It applies to all new procurements regardless of dollar value.
